The term "fake news" has been popularised in the leading year before the 2016 American Presidential election, which is now a common term in the public vocabulary, and is called "word of the year" by the English Dialect Society and the Collins. In terms of what contents should or should not be contained under the "fake news" swap, the views differed. The most common term is, however, that the false news is deliberate disinformation which is used to deliberately disseminate false information or to skew real information.
