Farmers' behavior toward participation in carbon offset market
Details
The online survey research reported in this paper has been developed to assess Alberta farmers behavior and attitudes towards climate change and entering into mitigation contracts for adopting practices that reduce their GHG emissions and evaluate factors that constrain or enhance farmer s willingness to enter into mitigation contracts. A common view is that climate change has resulted in the dry years getting dryer and the wet years getting wetter, and generally less snow. Drought has been the major problem in most areas as a result of less snowy winters to restore water levels. The results should help policy makers and other government personnel to develop strategies to further enhance the number of farmers involved in the 10 government-approved protocols related to agriculture.
