Most believe so as to scientists knows more than farmers and they should be the people who determine what research to be done and how it should be conducted. So that Farmers' participation in agricultural research has not gained momentum at the local, regional and international levels. This book is first of its kind in seeing the determinants and patterns of farmers' participation in agricultural research. Under conditions that farmers' participatory research leads to the empowerment of rural communities. The farmers indigenous' or traditional' knowledge and the responsiveness that they can have a say to their own development must be recognized. The socio-economic and cultural factors such as age, household size, educational attainment, size of farm land, and gender are significantly related to farmers' participation in Farmer Research Groups
