Details

Water pollution is a serious threat for human health, ecosystem & in terms of depletion of clean water resources. Water pollution is considered as one of the most important problem facing the world nowadays. One of the sources that causes water pollution, even in small concentrations, are the pharmaceuticals, as about 30-90% of the given dose can remain non-degradable in the human or animal body, & is largely excreted as an active compound. Especially release of antibiotics to the environment causes enhanced resistant bacteria, which makes related treatment difficult; therefore the removal of the antibiotics from waste water is very important to protect the ecosystem in long term. It is known that antibiotics are the new contaminants of concern in the aquatic environment as they pass through the body largely un-metabolized & directly enter into the water-systems. The purpose here is to determine the overall transformation potential of some antibiotic drugs in wastewaters with specific emphasis on their analytical study. Due to wide application of antibiotics, it is impossible to entirely hamper their penetration into water bodies, so it is necessary to limit their content in water.
