This book discusses factors influencing women s participation in water supply decisions such as; culture and traditions, illiteracy, financial resources / poverty, time and distance to water points. It looks at different studies done in different parts of the world in regard to women and water supply and seeks to find out if what other researchers findings and the above factors are true to Kenya. Water supply refers to the process of self provision or provision by third parties in the water industry, commonly a public utility of water resources of various qualities to different users. Women s participation is the involvement of women in water supply decisions The book is expected to be of a great interest in the Ministry of Gender and Youths, Ministry of Health and sanitation, Local and International development partners, environmentalists, and water suppliers among others parties in ensuring that women are involved in all aspects of management and decision making as far as water supply is concerned.
Autorentext
The author is a Bachelor of Education (Arts)Nairobi-2001 and a Master of Arts (Project Planning and Management)Nairobi-2010. She has experience in teaching maths and Geography and has also demonstrated a lot of interest in gender issues in community development,designing, monitoring and evaluation that has resulted in the publication of this book.
