"Teacher is King of himself and servant of mankind." - Henry Van Dyke. Teacher is the pivot of the entire Educational process or activity. With good leadership and appropriate teaching aids, the teacher's effectiveness can be enhanced. Our vision in this globalized world is one in which the pursuit of learning is valued by individuals and by authorities all over the world not as a means to an end but as end in itself. How much will be expected and demanded from teachers largely depends on them whether this vision can come true. Teachers have a crucial role to play in preparing the learners not only to face the future with confidence but to build it with purpose and responsibility. The importance of the role of the teacher as an agent of change, promoting understanding and tolerance, has never been more obvious than today. It is likely to become even more in this Globalized era. The need for change is required from narrow nationalist to universalism, from ethnic and cultural prejudice to tolerance in various manifestations.The fundamental challenge before us is Global Trends and New Scenario of Teacher Education which impacts in our lives in different ways and meanings.
