The book Heavy Metals in Environment reflects the impact assessment of industrial effluents on characteristics of groundwater, agricultural soil and crop plants tissues in Panipat region of Haryana, India. The book deals with heavy metal pollution aspects of industrial effluents drained by textile industries, which play a significant role in degrading the water quality of groundwater and ultimately effected the entire environment. Further, the book has emphasized on the distributional pathway of heavy metals from industrial effluents to ground water as well as agricultural soil and plant tissues. The accumulation of heavy metals as transfer and enrichment factor also described and calculated the metal accumulation factor among all trophic levels. The book will be good contribution for scientists, zoologists, agriculturists, health scientists, environmentalists, nongovernment organizations, research students and serve as a reference to initiate the research in the field of industrial pollution and quantification and impacts of heavy metals on environment.

Dr. Pawan K Bharti, M.Sc., Ph.D., FASEA has written 10 books, 52 articles and many scientific poems. Dr. Bharti is fellow & founder member of few academic bodies. Dr. Bharti was member of 30th Indian Antarctica Expedition (2010-11) and visited to S. Africa, Antarctica, UAE, Bhutan & Nepal. Presently, working as Scientist in SIIR, Delhi, India.
