HOW TO INTEGRATE CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS IN ACADEMIC WRITING SETTINGS

The implementation of Critical Thinking skills in higher education is a crucial topic. University freshman students need to be exposed to a opportunities where they can practice Critical Thinking skills in reading into writing classes so that they can develop the skill to transfer Critical Thinking into their experiences outside the school. This book presents the findings of a study conducted at Bilkent University to explore ·what Critical Thinking is as well as the elements in it, ·how teachers approach the development of Critical Thinking in their writing tasks, ·how students respond to and apply these components in their writing assignments.
