Immersion Education

There is a great variety of approaches to language teaching. Especially Europe needs to look for new ways of raising a generation that is able to compete in a global environment. Early bilingual program ideas from Canada are adjusted and implemented in schools all over Europe. Not only society, but children and parents themselves are asking for multilingual education. This book not only covers the positive features researchers find in the approach of immersion education as an effective form of foreign language teaching, but it also includes the difficulties and problems of the implementation and realization of such programs in Germany.

Autorentext

The author was born and raised in Hamburg. Because of his early interests in physical education, the English language and his work with children he studied at the University of Hildesheim to become a primary school teacher. Having received his Bachelor of Arts in English he is now finishing his Master of Education.
