Joseph Nechvatal is an artist who earned his Ph.D. in thephilosophy of art and new technology at CAiiA:University of Wales College, Newport, UK withthis text. He presently teaches it at the School of Visual Arts in New YorkCity and at Stevens Institute of Technology. His collected essays (1993-2006) werepublished by Edgewise Press in 2009.
