In order to build a better understanding of the
international female students experiences in the
United States, it is important to look at the
historical and social contexts responsible for their
academic and personal success. This study can be
seen as part of global research on women s issues
and critically addresses issues of education, gender
inequality, cultural adjustment, and identity
formation. It also presents the international
women s perspective on gender issues in the United
States and around the world. This work can benefit
efforts of international educational organizations
and education policymakers. Instructors can employ
the findings of this study in their educational
practices. The work also provides recommendations to
educational organizations and international female
students for building successful strategies for
cultural and social adjustment.
