L2 Teachers' and Learners' Perceptions of Task-Based Language Pedagogy

Recently, Task-Based Instruction (TBI) evolving from communicative-based pedagogy has gained considerable importance in language teaching research. This study explored teachers and learners perceptions of task-based language pedagogy and the tasks used in the foreign language classrooms of Iran. It also investigated Iranian EFL teachers and learners views on implementing TBI and the practical reasons which make them choose or avoid implementing TBI.

Atefeh Hadi received her Master's degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from Azad University, Iran. Her main research interests include: Communicative Language Learning, Task-Based Language Teaching, Teachers' and Learners' Perceptions, Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL), and Discourse Analysis.
