Measuring Intellectual Capital in Higher Education

Nowadays intellectual capital and its measurement have become very important issues for companies and knowledge-based organizations. The reason is the significant value that could be provided for the organizations by this intangible asset. This kind of asset cannot be seen in the balance sheet but can generate high values for organizations and lead them to gain competitive advantages. This research aims to measure the Intellectual Capital of the Faculty of Sciences of SCU (Shahid Chamran University) and investigate the trend of its development during the years 2008-2010. There are some suggestions presented in the last chapter of the book to improve the situation of the university in terms of its intellectual capital.

Shohreh Parham holds two master degrees in Business Administration.Her first MBA was held in Payame-Noor University of Tehran. She obtained her second MBA degree from Greenwich University of London and the course was held in Saxion university Of applied science , Deventer , The Netherlands.Her research interest is focused on intellectual capital.
