Natural resource is any form of matter or energy available in nature that can be used to sustain the various activities of human beings.They are indispensable for development of the economy.Many scholars argue that Ethiopia is endowed with immense natural resources.This includes fertile soil, favorable climate, biodiversity,and surface and ground water resources. However, the sustainability of these resources are under threatdue to population growth, industrialization,increasing urbanization, weak governance,lack of information/education,lack of technology, lack of access to infrastructure and poverty.This book is prepared for under graduate natural resource management students to give highlights about the natural resource management and utilization policiesm and laws employed in Ethiopia. It also describes policy formulation steps, policy cycle, policy making models, its relation with laws, implementation failures in the past and amendment mechanisms experienced in Ethiopia.
Autorentext
I obtained my BSc degree in Plant Sciences at Alemaya University and MSc degree in Environmental science at Addis Ababa University. With respect to experience, I was Agronomist at Agriculture and Rural development office in Amhara National Regional State. Currently, I am instructor and researcher at Wollo University in Lecturer position.
