Tarun Belwal, MTech., PhD in plant biotechnology has over 10 years of experience in nutraceuticals, food science, bioprocessing, and phytopharmacology. After completing his PhD degree in biotechnology from Kumaun University, Uttarakhand, India, in collaboration with G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment (NIHE), Kosi-Katarmal, Almora, Uttarakhand, India, he worked at the College of Biosystems Engineering and Food Science, Zhejiang University, China, and in the Department of Drug Science and Technology, University of Turin, Italy. He has extensively worked in the Indian Himalayan Region (IHR) mainly on wild berries and fruits, biodiversity conservation, and its sustainable use. He was awarded by the Governor's Award for Best Research” 2016 and 2017 by the Government of Uttarakhand, India, for his work on wild berries. He has been served as guest editor in various leading food journals, namely few as Food Chemistry, Food and Chemical toxicology, Phytomedicine, Sustainable Chemistry and Pharmacy, Foods, and Frontiers in Nutrition. He has published over 100 research articles in peer-reviewed journals and edited 1 book. He is currently engaged in the development and promotion of safer and greener postharvest food bioprocess techniques, food waste utilization, and food functionality. Seyed Mohammad Nabavi is a Biotechnologist and senior scientist in the Applied Biotechnology Research Centre, Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. His research interests are focused on natural products. Till now, he has authored/co-authored over 250 publications in international journals indexed in ISI and has more than 7000 citations to published articles and also more than 10 books.Seyed Fazel Nabavi is a biotechnologist and Senior Scientist of Applied Biotechnology Research Center, Baqiyatallah University of Medical Science and a member of Iran's National Elites Foundation. His research focused on the health-promotion effects of natural products. He is author/co-author of 170 publications in international journals, 45 communications at national and international congress and 4 chapters in book series. He is a referee of several international journals. He is also in the top 1% top scientists in the world in the fields of Agricultural Sciences and Pharmacology & Toxicology according to Essential Science Indicator from Thompson Reuters ISI.Ahmad Reza Dehpour is a pharmacologist and biomedical scientist. He studied pharmacy at Tehran University and received a PhD degree in Pharmacology from Tehran Medical School. He was editor in chief of the journal "Acta Medica Iranica", published by the Tehran University of Medical Sciences and general secretary of the Iranian society of physiology and pharmacology. He is also a member of Editorial Board in "Liver International" the Official Journal of the International Association for the Study of the Liver. He is currently full professor at Tehran Medical School. Dehpour published more than 250 original research papers in international journalsSamira Shirooie researches in Pharmacology, Toxicology and Pharmaceutics Medicine Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular Biology Immunology and Microbiology. She is an early career researcher who has only published since 2016.
