Nurture Groups in Primary Schools

Nurture groups help children to grow and flourish, support families and, as nurturing attitudes spread, empower schools. This book offers a valuable resource to help schools to set vulnerable children on the road to success It is my great pleasure to welcome Malta into this lively forward looking community (Marion Bennathan Life President, The Nurture Group Network, UK). This book is published in the context of heightened attention to challenging behaviour within inclusive settings, the promotion of emotional education in school, and early intervention approaches in education. It is intended as a practical resource for schools and practitioners who would like to know more about nurture groups and how they operate, what their benefits are, and how they may be established within schools. The experience and insight provided by the practitioners and researchers writing in this book, give grounds for optimism that nurture groups provide unique opportunities for the education of pupils with social, emotional and behaviour difficulties.
