This book is very useful to the students and researchers of Pharmacy as well as medical streams. The book contains imporatant phytochemicals responsible for contraceptive and antifertility activity. The pregnane, ethynyl estradiol and diosgenin have been studied from traditional contraceptive plants. Authors have isolated most of the phytochemicals from five major plants. These phytochemicals are alkaloids, flavonoids, Glycosides, Triterpenoids, saponins and steroids. The saponin and steroidal compounds are the major compounds in Trigonella foenum-graecum L., Sapindus emarginatus Vahl., Moringa oleifera Lam, and Ricinus communis L. and Crotolaria juncea L. Prof. Balasaheb Gaykar M. Sc. Ph. D is working on medicinal plants with respect to Reproductive Biology and published more than 36 research papers. Dr. Asha Kadam M. Sc. Ph. D is working as Assistant professor in NAC & Sci, College, Ahmednagar and worked on traditional contraceptive plants.
