Portraying China in Africa

China has utilised its state media to enhance its Public Diplomacy in Africa. Previously, Africans and Chinese learnt about each other from a third party which was often western media. It has for a long time lamented about biased and negative coverage in Africa and sought to counter this by "going out" to present the "voice of China" through its own state media to improve communication and cooperation between China and Africa. This book is an insightful work on how "China Daily Africa" newspaper also known as the "voice of China" portrays China in Africa.
