Details
Soil transmitted helminth infestations are a major public health problem in children in developing countries such as Kenya. Transmission occurs when a school age child comes into contact or ingests faecally contaminated soil that has helminth larvae and eggs. Infestations from Soil transmitted helminth impair physical growth and cognitive development. The book covers prevalence of worm infestation and the associated risk factors among school age children 5-12 years in rural Kaben location, Elgeyo Marakwet County, Kenya (2015). It describes soil-transmitted infestations, multiple parasitic infestations and risk factors associated with soil-transmitted helminths.
