Principles of Refrigeration

Define refrigeration and air-conditioning as the processes of transferring heat from one place to another. Classify the major components of refrigeration systems (Compressor, Condenser, Evaporator and expansion devices). Compare and contrast refrigeration systems as well as mechanical (VCR) and non-mechanical refrigeration (VAR) systems. Analyze the characteristic properties of refrigerant substances and vapor compression refrigeration system as well as interpret P-h and T-S Diagrams.Explain the Psychometric properties and psychometric chart while considering the property of moist air. Judge the interaction of Refrigeration and AC system characteristics and determine the Process and Properties of Air conditioner needed for a typical enclosed space in a building.
