Religion and Morality: A christian perspective

Religion and morality go together even though they are not similar. The paper discussed the link between Religion and Morality and how they are connected with each other. It states that both morality and religion are internal and concerned with a higher law which stands over and above the sphere of the state and outside state control. This paper examines the concept of religion in relation to morality, focusing on Christian perspective. In this paper we discover that what is good is willed by God. The fulfillment of God's will and the performance of moral action are two aspects of the same process. Morality prepares the way for the perpetuation of Christianity while Christianity reinforces morality with its supernatural sanctions. Certain of the moral tenets are explained as having a supernatural origin. Salvation and blessedness are interpreted in terms of the individual's relation to the moral ideals. The paper draws conclusion stating the place of religion in morality and hence reasons as to why morality should be strongly connected to the Christianity.
