This book deep dives into the lives of farmers in a village in India. It tries to understand the lifeways of farmers from a holistic point of view, and also tries to structure their thoughts and actions. Through this book, the author tries to answer some key questions, such as why a farmer tries to adopt a particular agricultural innovaiton? what are the influencing factors? what are the restraining factors? How the socio-economic scenarios are changing and how they are impacting the agricultural environment around them? The author also suggests a VINNOVATION INDEX, which measures the level of adoption / rejection of innovations by the people. This helps understand the adoption / rejection patterns for an innovation more clearly. The book explores the yield changes,, crop patterns and alternative ways of earning by farmers of the area.
