Square Thought and Plastic Memory in the Novels of Earl Lovelace
Details
Square Thought and Plastic Memory in the Novels of Earl Lovelace takes a look at Trinidadian society through some of the characters and institutions in five of Lovelace's published novels. The analysis uses Square Thought and Plastic Memory - a theory extrapolated from the works of Science Fiction author, Frank Herbert. The societal theories expressed in the Dune novels, especially God Emperor of Dune, sets the groundwork for examining how Trinidad's multi-cultural society has been and continues to be affected by ancestral memory and repeated societal patterns.
