Students Perception of Services at a MITC or a Main Campus

Institutions of higher education continue with the
challenges of providing a quality education with
diminishing financial support. Multi-Institutional
Teaching Centers (MITC) or University Centers (UC)
are an option for colleges and universities to
partner or collaborate at an off-campus venue. These
centers have minimal administration with locally
provided facilities which allow the universities the
ability to pool their resources to support the needs
of prospective students, returning students, and
lifelong learners.

This book examined and compared the perceptions of
undergraduate and graduate students of a selected
state university in Texas attending the MITC/UC or
the main campus regarding the effectiveness of
student services which included admissions,
advising, financial aid, and registration.

Dina Flores-Mejorado, Ed.D., is the Director of Academic Student Services for Sam Houston State University at Lone Star College-University Center in The Woodlands, Texas. Dina has served in higher education for more than 22 years; 11 of those years have been at a Multi-Institutional Teaching Center entitled, "The University Center."
