Details

This book presents the social, economic and academic stressors prevailing in public universities. It focuses on the students' perception of stresses and differences due to gender, experience and sponsorship and coping strategies used by students in public universities in Kenya. These stressors result from the high demand for university education by school leavers and mature students. The study recommends that lecturers and administrators should prepare, guide and help students to cope with the prevailing conditions and challenges in universities. The input by the stakeholders helps reduce student stresses and enables them cope better, attain best grades and complete their education within the recommended period. This book is recommended for policy makers, students, counsellors, lecturers and parents.
