Sensory processing development highlights that tactile stimulation which is a first level of input children receive and engage in responding in a more acceptable way. Tactile stimulation is effective in conditioning persons with autism spectrum disorder to process this information towards successful integration. Touch is the most developed sensory modality at birth and it contributes to cognitive, brain, and socio-emotional development throughout life. Convenience sampling method was used for the study purpose. The tools used for the data collection are Touch Inventory (Royeen,1985) and Emotional Response Test(Manjula, 2009).

Gopalakrishna (born April 2, 1981) is a registered psychologist and rehabilitation practitioner in the field of disability rehabilitation and practicing in Hyderabad, India.Completed graduation in specialized professional course (BRS MR) in the field of Mental Retardation and also completed M Phil Psychology from S.V.University.
