The Olympics are a truly global event. Every two years, the world's strongest athletes compete in a variety of sports. Millions of fans follow this show, one of the most intriguing on the planet. Of course, hosting such a major event requires considerable investment in the construction of venues and infrastructure, security and escorting of Olympic guests, etc. The main benefits that the organisers expect are related to attracting global attention to the city and an influx of spectators and subsequently tourists, and most importantly, the development of the city in the long term. The purpose of this paper was to analyse the main areas of impact of preparation and holding of the 2014 Olympics on the labour market of the Krasnodar Region. The main objectives set and implemented in the work were: -studying the main areas of impact of the Olympics on the regional labour market; -identifying general trends in labour supply and demand in the Krasnodar Region until 2016; -assessing the imbalance in the Krasnodar Region labour market under the influence of the Olympics; -proposing measures to mitigate the imbalance in the Krasnodar Region labour market; -and others.
