Non-Formal Education is the main source that caters to a diversity of groups in the community in various disciplines in order to enhance the quality of living of the community. The main focus of this book is to study the contribution of the Community Learning Centres (CLCs) for the upliftment of the community. This study revealed that if the concept of CLC and its function is identified properly by the administration and if the CLC programmes cater to the needs of the community, then the contribution of the CLCs would be more effective.

Kapila Bandara is a lecturer in Non-Formal Education at the faculty of Education, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. His research interest is on Community Development. This book is based on his Master of Education degree that was offered by the University of Colombo.
