The study proposes reading program named Project RePo (Reading is Power) designed to improve the reading skills of Grade 7 students in one of the Public Secondary Schools in Pili, Camarines Sur-Philippines. Specifically, the study identifies the common behaviors and oral reading miscues of the students while reading. Hence, it shows the effect of the implementation of Project RePo on the reading skills of the students. Further, it determines the specific skills in oral reading that were improved after the implementation of the school's reading intervention program. Applying consistent methodological standards, Project RePo consists effective reading interventions as means of solving secondary students' reading problems. The reading interventions described in this book were the results of that effort. These reading interventions focus on the most critical components of reading instruction necessary for students to become proficient readers. These critical components include decoding, word recognition,fluency and comprehension for improving reading proficiency level.

Jeff Jerhon J. Rubi is a graduate of BSE-English at Central Bicol State University of Agriculture in 2015. He obtained his MAED-English at Partido State University in 2019. He is currently enrolled at University of Northeastern Philippines taking Doctor of Education Major in Educational Management.
