The End of Russian Philosophy
Details
The End of Russian Philosophy describes and evaluates the troubled state of Russian philosophical thought in the post-Soviet decades. The book suggests that in order to revive philosophy as a universal, professional discipline in Russia, it may be necessary for Russian philosophy to first do away with the messianic traditions of the 19th century.
Alyssa DeBlasio's well-researched monograph addresses the state of philosophy in contemporary Russia. appeals more to those with an interest in the state of post-Soviet philosophy, but can also be read by those interested in the general history of Russian philosophy or select contemporary Russian philosophers . With its extensive scope, bibliographical wealth, and detailed notes, The End of Russian Philosophy provides an excellent assessment of current (and long-standing) dynamics in the field of Russian philosophy.
