Details

Currently Teaching Method is changed from TCM to SCM. Theoretically the new method is believed to permit learners to actively involved in the learning process whereby they allowed to explore, experiment and discover by their own. It is also whispered to allow students to have deep understanding of course material, develop their critical thinking and problem solving ability. In Ethiopian, this method was also adopted as a main instructional method. However, the introduction of the new method may not be prolific unless it is effectively put into practice. Similarly, it can be said that the introduction of the new method does not guarantee its effective implementation. As Scheetz and Benson (1994:98) stated the mere introduction of the relevant changes in the educational system cannot bring about the required outcome, if implementations are not made inline with these changes. Hence, the benefits of ALM are only achieved when it is practically implemented. This book, thus, shows the extent to which ALM is being implemented at classroom level. It is expected to benefit educational institution administrators, teachers and researchers.
