Motor impairments, such as cerebral palsy, may
produce restrictions concerning all aspects of
child s life. Consequences for daily activities,
mobility, self-care, social needs and functioning are
carefully studied in children up to 13 years of age.
Parenting styles, their coping abilities and levels
of stress are evaluated in relation with the severity
of the child s impairment. Special attention is given
to important vehicles in life, such as communication
(language and speech), intelligence and
neuropsychological functions. The monograph is a must
for those caring for children with motor disabilities
and professionals working in the field. Topics such
as the predictability of the neonatal cranial
ultrasound methodology for important outcome measures
might be attractive for students in brain - behavior
relations.

field of pediatric clinical psychology and
