The Rendering of Terms of Jurisprudence (Fiqh) into English

This book is an attempt to study and analyze the translations of the terminology of fiqh in different contexts, Qur anic and non-Qur anic. For this purpose, many translations of the Qur an together with many translations of fatwas and Prophetic hadiths have been included. The study tackles many issues and problems related to the translation of fiqh terminology into English. Due attention is given to the responsibilities of the translator who is fit to translate these terms emphasizing the importance of the translator's cultural background of both the source and target texts to properly translate these juristic terms.

Autorentext

The author has a PHD in translation studies from Cairo University and MA in linguistics from Ain Shams University. He is an assistant professor responsible for teaching translation and linguistic courses in the Northern Border University, KSA. He also spent several years teaching linguistics in al-Jouf University.
