The Theory of Relevance with Reference to English/Arabic Translation

This book introduces some areas of translation mainly models of translation, context in translation and the theory of relevance and its importance in the field. The objective of this book is to provide useful tools for students and researchers working on the theory of translation and, hopefully, contribute to the understanding of the translation process. Throughout the book, theory and research are illustrated with extracts from classroom texts.

Hanan Bennoudi is an Associate Professor of translation at the English department at Ibn Zohr University in Agadir, Morocco. Among her publications: 'Lost in Translation from Arabic into English and back again', 'Issues in translating Tarifit tales', 'Translating or Rewriting?' and 'Translating Orality between Foreignization and Domestication'.
