The Translation of Medical Texts

Similar to legal and technical translation, medical translation requires speciality and it is distinguished from other types of translation in the sense that it is directly related to the human health. The information has therefore to be transferred accurately and completely in the translation of medical texts and in connection with this, this activity has to be done by either medical professionals having the knowledge of the subject matter or experienced translators having a mastery of translation techniques. Presenting some data about these, this book also deals with some translation strategies thought to be useful for medical translators.

Mehmet Cem Odac ölu is currently working as a Research Assistant at University of Sakarya in the department of Translation Studies and he is pursuing Ph.D. in the same department.
