Die Freundesgabe für den Anglisten und Morus-Forscher Hubertus Schulte Herbrüggen befaßt sich mit Literatur und darstellender Kunst von der Frührenaissance bis zur Gegenwart. Beiträge zu Leben, Werk und Rezeption des englischen Humanisten Thomas Morus (1477/8-1535) werden ergänzt durch Artikel, die sich unter anderem mit europäischen Humanisten, Utopien und Dystopien sowie Morus als literarischer Figur auseinandersetzen. This Liber Amicorum for Hubertus Schulte Herbrüggen, the renowned More scholar, deals with literature and the fine arts from the early Renaissance to the present day. In addition to articles on Thomas More's (1477/8-1535) life, works and posthumous fame, it includes contributions discussing various European humanists, utopias and dystopias, and the notion of More as a literary figure.
