This book initially addresses conceptual underpinnings of planning and development. The first section of the book specifically discusses planning as a development concept, planning as procedural method, planning as tool for resource allocation and evolution of planning thought in development discourse. The next phase systematically discusses levels of planning, aspects of planning, forms of planning and sectors of planning. Also, simplified explanations are offered for Linear Programming, Input-Output Model, Demographic Model (Arithmetic and Exponential Models) and Forecasting (Time-Series and Forecasting) Model. Other topical areas covered by this book are: development planning process, Planning Process Model, Stages of Development Planning Process, Features of Planning Process and Implications of Planning Process for Development Policy. Furthermore, Principles of Effective Participation and its rationale in Planning Process are discussed.
