The European Route of Democracy ­connects cities and places that are ­closely linked because of the founding and ­development of the European Union as we know it today. The route runs along the ­barely visible national borders between ­Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg and Netherlands. It traces beautiful landscapes offering a rich variety of sights and a special, regional-multinational flair. The European idea becomes experiential (tangible).
