This book is concerned with beneficial aspects of the wetland and spatial pattern of wetland distribution in different parts of India and West Bengal in general and Bengal Basin specially Modibund delta, Extended Moribund delta and Rarh Bengal in particular. Genetic process, functional process, process of roaming etc. have clearly mentioned in this book. How wetland can determine the agricultural, settlement and demographic pattern and the existence of wetland sustenance are regulated by human being has explained in this book. Repeatedly, this book raises the question, is it economically and ecologically justified replacing the wetland in cost of short term profit.

Dr. Swades Pal (b. 1982) is an assistant professor of Rampurhat College, W.B., India. He is a Fellow of UGC. He has completed Ph.D. works from Visva-Bharati University in 2010. He has trekked River Mayurakshi, River Dwarka and River Kunur from source to mouth. The scholar is now working on Wetland of Moribund delta.
