Women and Crime

This book offers a complete analysis of biological, psychological and sociological writings and researches on criminality of women along with the fascinating amount of indigenous empirical research material on female on offenders. It has analysed, additionally, and offered certain key issues in relation to women and crime. From these, it derives some very momentous inferences which can be further explored and tested. Moreover, the present work throws light on the emerging dimensions of female crime in the context of Indian Social Structure. The five critical chapters of this book provide a stock of information about the etiology of crime in Indian theoretical perspectives on female criminality; the profile of women prisoners; and the family orientation, family procreation and correctional programmes in the state of Tamil Nadu.
