This book provides a brief bibliographical review of domestic pigeons (Columba livia), Salmonellosis and the Ver-o-peso market (Belém-PA). The book also reports on a study carried out to investigate the presence of Salmonella sp. in the faeces of free-living domestic pigeons that live in the market. The study used simple direct methods for diagnosis and obtained negative results for the aetiological agent investigated. This book is dedicated to all readers interested in studies relating to biology, microbiology, zoonoses, public and animal health, and aims to elucidate the importance of the presence of domestic pigeons in urban environments.
