The discovery of the antineoplastic activity of ellipticine and its isomer olivacine has stimulated considerable research efforts to develop newer strategies to synthesize structurally unprecedented carbazole derivatives. In this book the recent advancements on the structure and pharmacological activities of various carbazole derivatives are well documented. The book focuses on the development of some facile and elegant synthetic methods for fused heterocyclic compounds containing carbazole nucleus and their antimicrobial screening of few heteroaromatic annelated carbazoles. The reactions are explained with plausible mechanisms.
