It was open to grand tourer cars complying with CAMS Group D regulations with Group B Sports Sedans competing by invitation. The season was contested over six rounds from 10 April to 28 August 1983.Points were awarded on a 9-6-4-3-2-1 basis to the top six finishers in each round.
