1st National symposium on the Occasion of the World Oral Health Day

The FDI has designated the 20th of March as World Oral Health Day. In terms of oral health, this date is significant for pediatric, adult, and geriatric dentistry.For healthy adults, this means having 32 teeth and 0 dental cavities. This could be represented as 3/20, which corresponds to the 20th day of the 3rd month March.Be Proud of Your Mouth is the theme for 2021-2023. For the 2021 celebration, the Department of Oral surgery, maxillofacial surgery and periodontology organized a scientific day with program which specifically selected and presented 8 topics in line with the theme of the FDI in our local context. This day was held on March 17th, 2021 at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of Yaoundé I, Cameroon.
