The protests were principally made of non-violent civil resistance, which comprised of a series of demonstrations, marches, acts of civil disobedience and labor strikes. The millions of demonstraters, who were of various socio-economic and religious backgrounds, called for the overthrow of the government led by President Hosni Mubarak. In spite of the predominantly peaceful nature of the protests, violent clashes between security forces and protesters occurred during the revolution, which made at least 846 people killed and 6,000 injured...
