Details

Different N-substituted sulfonamides were synthesized by reacting 4-Chloro-benzenesulfonyl chloride with 2-Methoxy aniline and 2-Ethyl-6-methyl aniline to form 4-chloro-N-(2-methoxyphenyl)benzenesulfonamide and 4-chloro-N-(2-ethyl-6-methylphenyl)benzene-sulfonamide respectively. Different N-substituted alkyl/aryl derivatives were synthesized using 4-chloro-N-(2-methoxyphenyl)benzenesulfonamide and 4-chloro-N-(2-ethyl-6-methylphenyl)benzenesulfonamide to yield 4-chloro-N-ethyl-N-(2-methoxylphenyl) benzenesulfonamide, N-benzyl-4-chloro-N-(2-methoxyphenyl) benzenesulfonamide, 4-chloro-N-(4-chlorobenzyl)-N-(2-methoxyphenyl) benzenesulfonamide, N-benzyl-4-chloro-N-(2-ethyl-6-methylphenyl)benzenesulfonamide, 4-chloro-N-ethyl-N-(2-ethyl-6-methyl-phenyl)benzenesulfonamide and 4-chloro-N-(4-chlorobenzyl)-N-(2-ethyl-6-methylphenyl) benzenesulfonamide respectively. Structural elucidation of synthesized derivatives was done by using melting point, IR and 1H NMR spectral analysis which conform the formation of of 4-chloro-benzenesulfonyl chloride derivatives.
