A Critical Discourse Analysis of the Syrian Crisis News in CNN and RT
Details
This book reveals how language is manipulated in the news that focused on the Syrian Crisis between 2015 and 2016. It shows to the readers that what they watch on TV, even if it was by reputed channels, is not always the result of objectivity. It also uncovers how political and military events affect the news presentation. Its aim is to raise the level of the audience's awareness regarding what they watch, and lead them to know that there are always cornerstones on which the news is formed. Unfortunately, these cornerstones are not always impartiality and objectivity!
