A GUIDE TO THEATRE DIRECTING is a book that aims to guide directors on the art of play directing. It focuses on the indices of directing on the thrust, proscenium, arena, traverse and the traditional African stage orientations. The book is also relevant for film directors as it provides information on the theory and practice of directing for the stage and screen. The book is divided into twelve chapters and each chapter is embellished with cutting edge information on the art of directing, and are tailored to address such issues as the concepts of theatre and directing, the director, his workspace and associates, theories of directing, the concepts of movement and blocking, and the meaning of directorial concept and directorial approach.

Tekena Gasper Mark is a Poet, Novelist, Director, Dramatist and Theatre Theoretician. He is a lecturer in the Department of Theatre and Film Studies, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, with over five years of experience as a researcher and lecturer. He hails from Emago-Kugbo, in Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria.
