A Perio Chip for The Treatment Of Adult Periodontitis

The various studies done on chlorhexidine chip have shown that the sustained release of chlorhexidine from an ethyl cellulose based , slow release delivery system effect reduced bacterial count in pockets for at least 17 weeks . Scaling and root planning plus chip verses scaling and root planning alone, showed a significantly greater reduction in probing depth and improvement in attachment level in pocket and even greater improvement in pocket 7mm or greater.
