The book reveals a predictive power control strategy which is used to improve the stability of power systems. This is carried in the presence of wind farms based on Doubly Fed Induction Generator [DFIG] using PID controller and Model Predictive Control [MPC] method. For improving the power system stability, an Static synchronous series compensator (SSSC) is used, which is a modern power quality Flexible AC Transmission System [FACTS] device that employs a voltage source converter connected in series to a transmission line through a transformer.

K.Balamurugan received his B.E degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and M.E degree in Power system from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai. He completed his doctorate degree in Power system from Sastra University, Thanjavur. His research interests are in the areas of FACTS, Power system dynamics and stability etc.
